In the first two months this year, taxes collected more than $ 500 million

PHNOM PENH: Mr. Kong Vibol stated that in the first two months of 2022, the tax revenue collected by the General Department of Taxation through the online revenue data management system amounted to 512.26 million USD, equivalent to 18.17% of the annual financial plan. Tax revenue in the same period in 2021 increased by 94.74 million US dollars, equivalent to 22.69%.

According to the press release on the meeting to summarize the results of tax collection for February 2022 of the Director-General of Taxation, said that in February 2022, the tax revenue collected by the Taxation department with the online revenue management system, $ 223.96 million, equivalent to 7.94% of the 2022 financial plan for management. Compared to February 2021, tax revenue has increased by 23.71 million US dollars, equivalent to 11.84%.

In February 2022, revenue from 5 main types of taxes continued to maintain a significant increase compared to February 2021, in which income tax amounted to 190.15 billion Riels, an increase of 23.61 Billion riels equal to 14.18%, value-added tax amounted to 252.78 billion riels, an increase of 13.23 billion riels equal to 5.52%, special tax amounted to 105.67 billion riels, an increase of 15 50 billion riels equal to 17.19%, salary tax amounted to 98.42 billion riels, an increase of 18.51 billion riels equal to 23.17% and 63.23 stamp duty on real property transfer Billion Riels increased by 9.18 billion Riels equal to 16.98%.

At the same time, Mr. Kong Vibol reminded regarding the tax compliance, tax offenses, and money laundering offenses that were in the past, a small number of enterprises did not register properly and plan to evade taxes, prepare false contracts, and invoices for the purpose of deduction. Reducing taxes could be the target of criminal investigations and in serious cases lead to money laundering, and is against the law.
